Mart Altvee, one of Redgate Capital's two founding partners, has been a high flyer in the Estonian banking and industrial sector for the last 16 years.

His CV includes some of the country's top management positions, most recently at SEB Estonia where he served as CEO and Country Manager from 2005 to 2007. During his tenure SEB was repeatedly ranked no. 1 in customer satisfaction, and in 2007 was named 'Bank of the Year in Estonia' by renowned industry journal The Banker.

Working in this position has given Mart the invaluable experience of managing a domestic bank within an international banking group. While with SEB he was also involved in the purchase of a bank for SEB in Russia, and later acted as a member of that bank's Supervisory Board.

Mart's history among the movers and shakers of Estonian business stretches back to 1992 when he became Chief of the Development Department at Nordpank. Before joining SEB, Mart also spent six years in key positions in the textile production company Sangar. There, as CEO and Head of the Management Board, he spearheaded the company's reorientation from the Russian market towards the West and established new standards of quality and efficiency.

In 1999 Mart took over as CEO and Head of the Management Board at SEB's leasing subsidiary in Estonia, SEB Ühisliising, a position he held until 2005. With the Estonian banking sector and leasing industry still reeling from the 1998 financial crisis, Mart's first tasks included the sale of several subsidiaries in Latvia and Lithuania and reworking the portfolio to bring profit figures into the black.

After the restructuring SEB Ühisliising became the fastest growing and most efficient leasing company in the country, generating more than 25% of the total annual revenue for SEB Estonia (formerly Eesti Ühispank). While doing all of this, Mart also undertook the supervisory management tasks of SEB Russian Leasing, a subsidiary of SEB Ühispank in St. Petersburg.
